Easy delicious stove top steak

Sometimes you just need a good steak. Growing up, my favorite thing my Dad made was steak, of course. Now, I am no where near the grill master that he is, but I do love to grill during summer time. I usually use a propane grill and make either grilled chicken or steak with some veggies and potatoes, it's kind of my signature thing to make by the pool for my friends in the summer. I learned how to grill and season steak from good ol' Dad, but he did not teach me what to do when its too dang cold to go outside and grill or what to do if you do not have a grill. I learned this from trial and error, and created my favorite way to make a steak. I have a cast iron from my Mom, but you could grill a steak on just a regular skillet or invest in a cast iron (so worth it) from the store. I know Pioneer Woman has a good cast iron at Walmart. So here is my super easy stove top steak recipe! Enjoy this with a glass of wine or whiskey (if you're of age) and relax, you deserve it!

Ingredients for 2 steaks:

  • Choose your favorite steaks, for me I love KC strip or Ribeye.
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste (about 2 tsp each)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp dried parsley

Directions:

  1. Heat pan to medium heat
  2. sprinkle salt and pepper on one side of the steaks ( 1 tsp each)
  3. drizzle red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce on one side of steak ( 1 tsp each)
  4. flip on to warm pan seasoned side down and let sizzle for about 3-5 minutes
  5. repeat steps 2 and 3 to other side of steak
  6. heat butter and garlic on side of pan and scoop on to the top of the steak, leave some for the other side of the steak
  7. flip after about 3-5 minutes
  8. repeat step 6
  9. flip steak again to get butter and garlic spread evenly over steak
  10. heat until desired for steak, depending on how well you like yours done.
  11. top with parsley

Side note:

I baked asparagus and baby rainbow potatoes to go along this.
Chop potatoes, drizzle olive oil on them, season with salt and pepper and about 2-3 tsp garlic powder and mix, bake for about 30 minutes at 415 degrees or until desired texture.
I had a bag of frozen asparagus, put the asparagus in a glass baking dish, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper to taste, bake at 415 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
